Common questions

Shift differential FAQ

What schedule patterns are supported?

Presets cover 3×12, 4×10, and 5×8 common nursing schedules. Hours per week, weeks per year, and hours per shift stay editable so you can match your unit.

How are differentials annualized?

Each differential converts to an hourly add-on (either $/hr or a percent of base), then multiplies by hours per shift × shifts per month × 12 months. Overtime uses base × multiplier × OT hours × weeks per year.

Can differentials stack on the same shift?

This model adds night, weekend, and charge streams independently from the counts you enter. If your employer stacks differently (or pays only the highest differential), adjust the counts or rates to match policy.

Is the tax estimate accurate?

No. It applies a single percentage you enter to modeled annual gross. It is not a tax return and ignores filing status, brackets, and deductions.
